We are asking guests to adhere to a color scheme for the day of the wedding ceremony and reception. This is because we have opted out of having a bridal party to ensure everyone's inclusion and cohesion in the photos.
This is not mandatory but rather meant to serve as a guide in the hope of photo consistency. Please note that kilts are NOT part of the colour palette- any and all tartans are encouraged!
Fascinators would also be a very welcome sight!
We are asking for formal attire for the wedding ceremony and reception on the 23rd. Please also feel free to dress up as extravagantly as you'd like for the night before (we will be!). There will be an activity during dinner the night before however it will not be strenuous.
We encourage wearing a kilt of your preference. Here are the best options to rent on in Aberdeen. The rental period is 3-4 days depending on shop (pick up Tues Am, drop off Thurs). There is also the option to rent tartan pants (or "trews")!
We have set up contact with the 3 shops below - each one has slightly different offerings. Please email the name provided for the shop you like best, send them your measurements, and pick up/drop off the order in Aberdeen. Unfortunately, due to the custom nature of the rentals, we cannot organize them on your behalf.

Kilt Outfit Measuring Instructions
Chest Size
This will be exactly the same size as your normal suit jacket, so if you have a suit, it will probably tell you the size on the inside (usually beside, or in, the pocket).
If not, measure around the widest part of the chest underneath the arms while leaving room for a couple of fingers under the tapeline.
Shirt Size
Measure around the neck while leaving at least one finger inside the tape, but again, this is the same
size as you would normally wear in a formal shirt, so you may get the size from one you already own
Shoe Size
The size you would normally wear in shoes.
Waist Size
A TIGHT measurement around the natural waist, so around the body at belly button height – NOT where the top of your trousers are worn! Kilts are worn higher on the body.
Kilt Length
Measure from the natural waist to the middle of the knee.
Inside Leg (pants, or "trews" only)
A measurement from the groin to 1” above the floor, or measure down the inside seam of a pair of trousers.
Height
Your full height
